Looking back at Summer 2024, we feel so lucky to have had yet another amazing group of interns. We are so grateful to all the vendors and clients who helped create so many incredible learning experiences so we wanted to share a few notes from the interns looking back on the wonderful summer we all had!
A Note From Kimmy:
My internship at Cape Cod Celebrations has been an incredible journey that has profoundly shaped my personal and professional goals. When I started, I was eager to dive into the world of wedding planning in a supportive environment, and Cape Cod Celebrations truly exceeded those expectations. From the very first day, our personalized coffee orders and warm welcome made us feel like part of the team and after being introduced to the talented core team of senior planners the tone was set for an internship filled with collaboration, mentorship, and fun!
The combination of “in-office” sessions and real-world, on-site experiences allowed me to grasp the fast-paced nature of wedding planning. With the invaluable support from Jamie, Stephanie, Heather, and the entire CCC team, I was able to build confidence and develop both personal and professional skills. Their expertise and dedication to their craft were inspiring and showed through everything they taught us.
Watching and experiencing firsthand why Cape Cod Celebrations has achieved such remarkable success has been an internship I will never forget. I’m immensely grateful for my diverse experiences, from vendor visits and individual projects to wedding days! I can’t thank CCC enough for all they’ve taught me! Cape Cod Celebrations and everyone involved have made this internship an unforgettable experience.
From Mary Kate:
This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to intern with Cape Cod Celebrations, and what a journey it has been! From the moment I stepped into the world of wedding planning, I knew I was in for an adventure. The experience has been nothing short of amazing, and I’ve learned so much in such a short time.
One of the most exciting aspects of my internship has been forming connections with vendors all over Cape Cod. It’s been fascinating to see the inner workings of wedding planning and to collaborate with such talented and dedicated professionals. Whether it was coordinating with bands and DJs to perfect timelines or working with venue coordinators to ensure every detail of the big day was flawless, I quickly realized just how much goes into creating a perfect event.
Working with Excel and mastering organizational tasks became second nature as I delved into planning meetings, organized seating charts, and set up beautiful rehearsal dinners and ballrooms. Each task, no matter how small, contributed to the larger picture of making someone’s special day truly unforgettable.
One of the highlights of my internship was the chance to work closely with the senior planners at Cape Cod Celebrations. Their guidance and expertise were invaluable, and I loved every moment spent learning from them. Their passion for event planning is contagious, and it’s clear they put their heart and soul into every wedding they organize. Their dedication and attention to detail have inspired me to pursue event planning as a full-time career.
Additionally, I enjoyed the creative aspects of the job, like uploading social media posts and updating the Amazon affiliate page. These tasks allowed me to blend my organizational skills with creativity, showcasing the beauty and joy of the events we planned.
Reflecting on my time with Cape Cod Celebrations, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the future. This internship has solidified my passion for event planning, and I can’t wait to continue down this path. The skills I’ve gained, the relationships I’ve built, and the experiences I’ve had will stay with me forever. Here’s to many more celebrations!
From Robin:
On Friday, August 9th, I attended my last wedding of the season. I had been jumping on calls for a month before the wedding so I felt particularly invested. The day before I had attended the rehearsal ceremony where I met the bride and groom face to face and got even more excited to help them on their special day. I got to interact with them and the wedding party when I had to step in as the fake officiant for their rehearsal ceremony which was a hilarious and unexpected experience. On the wedding day, I helped set up by putting all the signage in frames, setting up the cardholder and the audio guest book, and placing all the table numbers for the reception. The couple had this amazing idea to have a wall of flowers in vases with every vase having a card with each guest’s name and table number. This is such a cute way to have people find their table for the reception while also giving them flowers as a party favor for their wedding. Me and the senior intern, Elizabeth, were tasked with tying each guest card onto a vase and then placing them on the wall in alphabetical order. While it was a long and meticulous process, seeing the result and the look on the couple’s faces when it was finished was worth all of the work.
After working eight weddings this summer, the most fulfilling part of this work is seeing how happy your help and effort make a couple. I went into this internship wanting to help people on their special day, but I didn’t anticipate how much the emotional aspect of weddings would affect me. Playing a part in that joy a couple feels on their wedding day started to make me feel that joy as well. These special days are filled with connection, love, and celebration, and being a part of it (however small my role may be) was a heartwarming experience.
Thanks again for an incredible summer!
